PORTLAND, Ore. – Earning All-America recognition from both the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and the D2 Conference Commissioners Association, Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year Sunny Huerta of Central Washington headlined the league’s list of postseason award winners.

Huerta earned third-team All-America recognition on the D2CCA list and was an honorable mention All-American on the WBCA list. Joining Huerta on the WBCA honorable mention team were Alaska Anchorage senior Tori Hollingshead and Montana State Billings senior Dyauni Boyce, giving the GNAC three total All-Americans for the 2024-25 campaign.

In addition to the All-America recognition, Huerta, Hollingshead and fellow Seawolf Emilia Long were voted first-team all-region by the D2CCA. Boyce, Asher Cai of Central Washington and Sophia Wisotzki of Simon Fraser each garnered second-team all-region accolades.

Huerta finished her career as the second-leading scorer in GNAC history with 1,960 career points, including a league second-best average of 19.1 points per game this season. In her final campaign, Huerta helped lead Central Washington to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA West Region Championships, where the team finished its season with a record of 23-8 overall and 14-4 in conference play. Huerta broke the GNAC records for made field goals (714) and minutes played (4,256) as she saw action in 124 games including 116 starts across her four-year career. Huerta was also an honorable mention All-American last season, and is the third Wildcat since the conference was founded in 2001 to earn the top national honor alongside 2023 national player of the year Samantha Bowman and 2002 fourth-team selection Rose Shaw.

A double-double machine for the GNAC champion Seawolves this season, Hollingshead ranked seventh in the league with 14.5 points per game and second with 8.0 rebounds per game. She took home GNAC Championships MVP honors after leading UAA to its conference-record seventh tournament title, after the squad went 16-2 in league play to wrap up its record ninth regular-season title. Hollingshead and the Seawolves knocked off Montana State Billings in the opening round of the NCAA West Region Championships, before falling just short in a 63-61 loss to top-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills. Hollingshead joins a long list of UAA All-Americans, becoming the ninth since the league was founded to take home the top honor. She is the first Seawolf to land on the All-America list since 2022 honorable mention pick Tennae Voliva.

Boyce capped her stellar career with the Yellowjackets by breaking the conference record for games played, as she suited up an unprecedented 137 times since the fall of 2020. Boyce finished her career No. 13 on the GNAC all-time scoring chart with 1,581 points, including a mark of 15.7 per game this season which ranked her fourth in the conference. The senior helped lead the Yellowjackets to a tie for second in the league standings at 14-4 in conference play, and to an overall record of 25-8 including a trip to the NCAA West Region Championships. Boyce is the sixth Yellowjacket to be named All-American since MSUB joined the league in 2007, and made it back-to-back years after 2024 GNAC Player of the Year Kola Bad Bear was a first-team All-American.

GNAC Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year Long headlined the all-region list, garnering first-team recognition from the voting members. Long broke the GNAC single-season record for steals with 135 and steals per game with 4.1, leading Division II women’s basketball in both categories. In addition to her defensive excellence, Long led the GNAC with 5.2 assists per game and added 12.2 points per game. She became the second player in league history to tally at least 100 points, rebounds, assists and steals within the same season, joining UAA’s Kiki Robertson who achieved that feat in 2016-17.

Wisotzki of Simon Fraser broke the GNAC single-season scoring record, leading the league and ranking third in Division II with 24.7 points per game. Her 666 total points scored this season were sixth most in Division II and it was the fifth-highest single-season total in conference history. She wrapped up her tenure with the Red Leafs at No. 17 in conference history with 1,520 career points scored.
