PORTLAND, Ore. – The top students among Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s track and field competitors were recognized on Friday with the 2024-25 academic all-GNAC team presented by Barnes & Noble College.

A total of 114 women who competed in indoor or outdoor track and field during the 2024-25 academic year earned a spot on the all-academic team. Two of the conference’s top throwers were featured at the top of the list, with Northwest Nazarene’s Destany Herbert and Western Washington’s Katie Potts each being selected for the fifth time in their careers. Herbert carried a 3.39 grade point average while completing her master’s degree in social work, while Potts holds a 3.53 GPA working towards her MBA.

Eight student-athletes carried perfect 4.0 GPAs, with that group headlined by fourth-year selection Madison Vu of Saint Martin’s who is completing her master’s degree in teaching. Third-year selections Johanna Brown of Seattle Pacific (nursing), Macy Clemens of Western Oregon (organizational leadership) and Delphine Maurer of Western Washington (biology) each also posted a 4.0 GPA. Four first-time all-academic selections had 4.0s as well, with sophomores Alexandra Otto of Alaska Anchorage (political science), Ellie Prazer of Central Washington (biology), Alena Ross of Central Washington (piloting) and Kaitlyn Bjorklund of Northwest Nazarene (elementary education) comprising that group.

To qualify for academic all-conference, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, must be in at least their second season competing for their team and must have competed during the 2024-25 indoor or outdoor campaign.
