All 4 GNAC rowing teams finish in top-5 at NCAA Championships

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – All four Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s rowing teams finished in the top-5 at the NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships, which wrapped up on Saturday night at Mercer Lake.
 
GNAC champion Cal Poly Humboldt finished as the team national runner-up accumulating 24 points with a win in the varsity 4+ race and a third-place finish in the varsity 8+ race. Reigning national champion Western Washington took home the team bronze medal with 21 points, finishing second in the varsity 8+ race and fourth in the varsity 4+ race.
 
Seattle Pacific and Central Oklahoma each totaled 13 points, with the Falcons taking fourth in the varsity 8+ and fifth in the varsity 4+, and the Bronchos placing second in the varsity 4+ and sixth in the varsity 8+. Embry-Riddle won the 2025 national team title, after winning the varsity 8+ race and taking third in the varsity 4+ race to secure 26 points.
 
The Vikings kicked off the final day of the championships with a runner-up finish in the varsity 8+ race, finishing with a time of 6:47.966 minutes. Embry-Riddle used a late push to just edge past WWU, clocking in at 6:47.187 minutes for what proved to be the key difference in winning the team national title. Cal Poly Humboldt finished third with a time of 6:50.074 minutes, Central Oklahoma posted a time of 7:09.695 minutes and Seattle Pacific followed in 7:13.410 in the grand finals.
 
Living up to their potential in the varsity 4+ race, the Lumberjacks secured the national title with a dominant victory in 7:32.426 minutes. That was nearly six full seconds faster than runner-up Central Oklahoma, which clocked in at 7:38.044 minutes. The Vikings finished fourth in 7:45.572 minutes and Seattle Pacific was fifth with a time of 7:53.973 minutes.
