BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Olivia Hodges completed her school-record 22nd double-double in front of an energetic home crowd Friday afternoon at Sam Carver Gym, powering top-seed Western Washington to a 66-55 win over No. 5 seed Western Oregon in the semifinals of the 2026 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Championships.

Hodges had her second-highest rebound total of the year with 20, adding 15 points across 29 minutes on the floor. Libby Stump added a game-high 21 points on 9-for-15 shooting and she tied for the team lead with four assists. Demi Dykstra also reached double figures in scoring with 10 points, adding five rebounds and four assists.

The Vikings extended their winning streak to nine games and made it 12 victories in their last 13 contests overall. The GNAC regular-season champions also improved to a perfect 12-0 in games played at Carver Gym this season. WWU advanced to the GNAC Championships title game for the 11th time and has won the tournament on four previous occasions (2013, 2014, 2023, 2024).

WWU will square off against No. 6 seed Montana State Billings (19-14), which upset No. 2 seed Central Washington 79-74 in the first semifinal on Friday. It will be the seventh all-time meeting between the programs at the conference tournament and the third in the championship game. WWU is 5-1 all-time against MSUB at the GNAC Championships, including its title wins in 2023 and 2024. The Yellowjackets will be in search of their second GNAC Championships crown, winning their first in 2018. WWU won both regular-season contests between the teams, coming through 59-56 on Dec. 3 in Billings, Mont., and 78-55 last Saturday in Bellingham, Wash.

Western Oregon’s season came to an end with a record of 15-13, and the Wolves made their third all-time appearance at the conference tournament. WOU made history on Thursday with its 68-67, overtime win over Northwest Nazarene, marking its first-ever conference tournament victory. Ciona Wells led the Wolves with 16 points and four assists in Friday’s loss, while Mya India Thomas added 13 points and five rebounds.

The Vikings dictated the pace for most of the contest and finished strong in the fourth quarter to pull away with the win. Western Oregon’s best chance to mount a comeback came in the third period, when the Vikings endured a 1-for-10 cold spell. That allowed the Wolves to creep back into the game as a pair of free throws by Thomas made the score 42-38. A jumper by Aspen Garrison and a three-point play by Stump broke the silence however, reestablishing a nine-point advantage for the Vikings who finished the quarter up 49-40.

The lead peaked at 15 points on a Stump jumper midway through the fourth, and the Wolves were unable to narrow the gap to single digits the rest of the game. Garrison finished with seven points and three rebounds, helping the Vikings to a dominant line of 45-33 on the glass. WWU shot 41.0% (25-for-61) overall, made 2 of 8 threes (25.0%) and knocked down 14 of 17 free throws (82.4%). WWU committed a season-low eight turnovers.

Western Oregon shot 26.3% (15-for-57) marking the 11th time this season WWU held its opponent below 30% in a game. WOU made 8 of 24 threes (33.3%) and 17 of 20 free throws (85.0%) and limited its turnovers to just nine.

Hodges moved into a tie for the fourth-most double-doubles in GNAC single-season history. It was her second straight game with 20 boards, as she closed the regular season with a personal-best 22 in her team’s win over Montana State Billings last weekend. Friday’s performance made it seven straight double-doubles for the senior.
