Softball lands 64 on academic all-GNAC list

PORTLAND, Ore. – A total of 64 softball players were named to the 2026 Great Northwest Athletic Conference all-academic team presented by Barnes & Noble College and announced on Wednesday.
 
This year’s selections featured 32 repeat winners and 32 newcomers. Among the returners were six players to earn the honor for the third time in their careers including Alexis Tovar (3.49, psychology) of Montana State Billings, Olivia Bailey (3.74, wildlife biology), Kaylee Duncan (3.81, pre-PT) and Jami Obringer (3.43, management) of Northwest Nazarene, Haley Agena (3.86, nursing) of Saint Martin’s and Sydney Conklin (3.52, psychology) of Western Oregon.
 
Three players tied for the highest grade point average in the conference, with senior Olivia Matlock (elementary education) of Western Washington, junior Kendall Klemp (elementary education) of Montana State Billings and sophomore Kaylee Walker (education) of Saint Martin’s each boasting a perfect 4.0.
 
Northwest Nazarene led the conference with 15 all-academic selections, while Saint Martin’s and Western Oregon each had a dozen. To qualify for academic all-conference, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, must be in at least their second season competing for their team and must have competed on the field during the 2026 campaign.
