PORTLAND, Ore. – The 2026 Great Northwest Athletic Conference baseball all-academic team, presented by Barnes & Noble College, featured 54 names upon its release on Wednesday.

Leading the charge were a trio of players who posted perfect 4.0 grade point averages. Anthony Arrechi of Saint Martin’s was one of them and was the lone player this year to earn the honor for the fourth time in his career as he works towards his MBA. Overall he is the ninth player in GNAC history and fourth Saint to be a four-time all-academic pick. Kaleb Karpstein of Northwest Nazarene also carried a 4.0 GPA while studying business analytics, and earned a spot on the all-academic team for the third consecutive season. The GNAC’s other 4.0 belonged to Northwest Nazarene sophomore Holt Williams, who picked up his first academic honor while pursuing an engineering degree.

Along with Arrechi and Karpstein, six other players claimed all-academic for the third time in their careers. That list featured Montana State Billings’ Lance Schaaf (3.87, teaching K-12), Northwest Nazarene’s Jakob Rochelle (3.76, mathematics) and Adam Brooks (3.72, marketing), Saint Martin’s Kyle Schabot (3.86, business administration) and Zen Staszkow (3.43, civil engineering) and Western Oregon’s Tyler Mohler (3.76, business).

Northwest Nazarene and Montana State Billings led the conference with 15 all-academic selections each. To qualify for academic all-conference, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, must be in at least their second season competing for their team and must have competed on the field during the 2026 campaign.
