SEASIDE, Calif. - The Nighthawks took a 17-0 decision over Cal State Monterey Bay as redshirt junior Jakob Rochelle pitched a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts and four Nighthawks homered.

It was all NNU from the jump as Rochelle struck out the first three out of four batters in the first and four runs would score in the bottom half for the Nighthawks. Gavin Brubaker earned a full-count walk and Kyle Becker knocked in a run on a two-out double. After a failed pickoff attempt, Becker took third and was able to score on an Adrian Arechiga single to center. Another Single off the bat of Caleb Boswell moved Arechiga to second and Jake Mestas doubled down the left field line ot score both Boswell and Arechiga.

Four more runs came in after Kyle Becker singled and Arechiga added a double. With runners at second and third with one out, Jake Mestas singled to right center to score both runners and take a 6-0 lead. Tate Lewis stepped up for the first time and launched a two-run home run to left field to go up 8-0.

Jakob Rochelle retired the side in order and Carter Walsh led off the fourth with a homer to left field and Gavin Brubaker singled to second.
