Red Leafs Wrap Day 2 Of NCAA Women’s Golf West Regional

STOCKTON, Calif.  – Reigning GNAC Champion Dana Smith leads the way for Simon Fraser at the 2024 NCAA DII Women’s Golf West Regional after the end of two rounds.

Smith is tied for 21st among the 66-golfer field with a two-day score of 3-over-par 147 after carding a 1-over-par 73 on her second trip through the par-72, 5,972-yard Brookside Country Club course in Stockton, Calif. She paced the Red Leafs on the second day of the tournament as the team finished the second round in 12th place with a two-round score of 601. As a team SFU finished the second round with a score of 306.

Meera Minhas follows Smith in a tie for 33rd with a two-round score of 5-over-par 149. After placing in the top 10 through round one, Minhas carded a score of 6-over-par 78 on her second trip through the course. Her day included a pair of birdies with one on the front nine and one on the back nine. Kassie Muanyam is tied for 54th after the second day with a score of 9-over-par 153. Muanyam carded a score of 4-over-par 76 to improve by a stroke on her second day of the west regional.

Behind Muanyam, Anaya Bhandal and Sueah Park are part of a seven-way tie for 54th with two-round scores of 10-over-par 154. Both Bhandal and Park finished with identical scores through the first two days of the tournament with scores of 75 on day one and 79 on day two. Park notched three birdies on her second trip through the course to lead the pair.

Up at the front, West Texas A&M leads the field with a two-day score of 3-under-par 573 (284-289). Madison Murr of Cal State San Marcos paces the individual field with a score of 5-under-par 139 (72-67). The NCAA west regional concludes tomorrow with the first pairing teeing off at 8:00 a.m. (Pacific).
